    Course Introduction

    This beginner-level Canva course is designed to introduce kids to digital design in a fun, easy, and creative way. Canva is a user-friendly online platform that allows students to make posters, cards, presentations, social media graphics, and more using drag-and-drop tools.
    Students will build digital confidence, design thinking, and visual communication skills as they create and present their own projects.

    The course is divided into two interactive parts:

    • Canva A1.1 (Month 1): Focuses on getting familiar with Canva and creating basic graphic designs like posters, cards, and profiles.
    • Canva A1.2 (Month 2): Expands into presentations, videos, branding, and portfolio creation.

    Program Title: Creative Design with Canva for Kids
    Age Group: 9–12 years
    Level: Beginners
    Duration: 2 Months (Split into Part 1 – Canva A1.1 and Part 2 – Canva A1.2)
    Schedule: 3 days per week | 1.5 hours per class

    Learning Outcomes

    By the end of this course, students will be able to:

    1. Navigate the Canva interface and use templates, text, images, and shapes.
    2. Create and customize visual content like posters, invitations, and name cards.
    3. Understand principles of design: layout, color, balance, and contrast.
    4. Work with animation and video tools in Canva.
    5. Build simple presentations with transitions and voiceovers.
    6. Design personal branding materials like a logo or social media post.
    7. Collaborate on shared designs and give peer feedback.
    8. Present a final portfolio showcasing their design journey.

    Part 1: Canva A1.1 (Month 1)

    Objective: Learn Canva basics and build foundational design skills through fun, creative projects.

    Week 1: Getting Started with Canva

    • Lesson 1: Exploring Canva Dashboard & Templates
    • Lesson 2: Text, Fonts, and Colors – Design a Name Tag
    • Lesson 3: Using Shapes, Lines, and Icons – Design a Class Schedule

    Week 2: Poster & Card Design

    • Lesson 4: Make a “My Favorite Animal” Poster
    • Lesson 5: Birthday or Greeting Card Design
    • Lesson 6: Use Canva’s Photo Library & Uploads

    Week 3: Profile Pages & Basic Layouts

    • Lesson 7: Create a “My Profile” Page with Fun Facts
    • Lesson 8: Design a Class Rules or Safety Poster
    • Lesson 9: Play with Color Schemes & Backgrounds

    Week 4: Mini Project & Sharing

    • Lesson 10: Design Challenge – “Design a Dream Poster”
    • Lesson 11: Group Feedback & Tips for Improvement
    • Lesson 12: Mini Presentation: Poster Showcase

    Assessment: Visual creativity + use of tools + clarity of message

    Part 2: Canva A1.2 (Month 2)

    Objective: Build skills for presentations, storytelling, animations, and branding in Canva.

    Week 1: Presentation & Slide Design

    • Lesson 1: Making a 3-Slide “About Me” Presentation
    • Lesson 2: Add Transitions, Animations, and Voice Narration
    • Lesson 3: Design a Quiz Slide Deck

    Week 2: Branding & Social Media Design

    • Lesson 4: Create a Personal Logo
    • Lesson 5: Design a YouTube Thumbnail or Instagram Post
    • Lesson 6: Learn to Resize and Save Designs for Different Uses

    Week 3: Storytelling & Video Tools

    • Lesson 7: Make a Digital Comic Strip or Story Slide
    • Lesson 8: Explore Canva’s Animation & Video Features
    • Lesson 9: Create a Short Video Presentation

    Week 4: Final Portfolio & Showcase

    • Lesson 10: Select Best Work & Build a Portfolio
    • Lesson 11: Peer Review & Final Edits
    • Lesson 12: Final Presentation: “My Design Collection”

    Assessment: Portfolio presentation + creativity + use of advanced tools
